The next bachelor for Season 20 of the popular dating reality show "The Bachelor" has now been revealed. According to Variety, Ben Higgins is officially the next heartthrob to look for his true love in the ABC hit reality show.
The website revealed that the announcement was made during the live episode of "After Paradise," the "Bachelor in Paradise" after-show. The 26-year-old who is a software salesman from Denver is not new to the show as he came in third place during the last season of "The Bachelorette," where Kaitlyn Bristowe reportedly broke his heart.
In an interview with the show's host Chris Harrison, Higgins expressed his excitement to be coming back as the bachelor. During the "Men Tell All" in the last "The Bachelorette" season, Higgins revealed that he is interested in becoming the next bachelor if ever the network would offer it to him. In an earlier interview, he revealed that he was overwhelmed with the attention but has learned to get used to it.
Earlier, Higgins was one of the frontrunners to be selected as Season 20's bachelor. Aside from Higgins, Christian Post reported that 31-year-old Tenley Molzahn from "The Bachelor" Season 14 also revealed that he would want to find the love of his life in the next season of "The Bachelor."
"The Bachelor" franchise producer Alycia Rossiter revealed that choosing the next bachelor is a serious business for them as they should be picking someone that appeals to all. She explained that they usually look for fan favorites and they also do polls and ask fans for their opinions.
Aside from looking for fan favorites, Rossiter said that they also look for someone who really wants to meet the love of their life and plans to get married. She added that there are also a lot of factors that need to be considered and it becomes a roller coaster ride for them and the staff.
As of writing there is still no official schedule for the premiere date of "The Bachelor" Season 20; however, it was said that it may be released in January 2016.
