'Naruto' Creator Teases New Sci-Fi Series; Live Action Film In the Works?

Now that "Naruto Shippuden" has come to an end, creator Masahi Kishimoto is planning to create a new series following the continuation of the franchise of the Boruto manga. According to iDigital Times, the creator is now planning something completely brand new, which he hopes to be even better than "Naruto."

According to the report, Kishimoto revealed that after 15 years of creating "Naruto," he is now thinking of doing something that involves science fiction. He added that the series has not been worked out yet and he also hasn't shown his editor about the new series. However, he revealed that he already finished designing the characters. He also said that the main character in the new series is unlike anything fans have seen before.

Kishimoto expressed his excitement for this new project and he said that he never imagined "Naruto" to become such a hit. He plans for the new series to surpass "Naruto," that is why he is asking fans to wait for it.

For now, "Boruto: Naruto The Movie" was a huge success in Japan as it already beat box office records in the country. It was earlier reported that the movie was centered on Naruto's son, Boruto, and their relationship.

According to Movie News Guide, Lionsgate is now under negotiations to be able to acquire the rights to create another live-action adaptation of the popular anime series. Reports reveal that Michael Gracey is set to direct the film while Avi Arad will be producing it, but there is still no confirmation yet.

Meanwhile, U.S. fans are still waiting for the release of "Boruto: Naruto The Movie" as it is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on October 10, 2016.
