'The Blacklist' Season 3 Premiere & Spoilers: Ressler Will Do Anything to Catch Red & Liz, Even If It Means Endangering Others; Show To Turn Even Darker

The premiere date of Season 3 of NBC's "The Blacklist" got pushed back to October 1 due to the premiere of "Heroes" spin-off, "Heroes Reborn." However, that doesn't stop fans of the show from being excited about it.

What can viewers expect from Season 3 now that Liz (Megan Boone) is still on the run as a fugitive? She'll need help from her ex-husband Tom (Ryan Eggold) and Red (James Spader) who might know a few things about the DC underworld that will help her hide from the FBI and "take down Cabal," according to Enstarz.

The FBI will then send out Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) to find the fugitives, and the character will be cutthroat in doing so. He won't mind putting other lives in danger as long as he successfully catches Red and Liz.

A new character from the Cabal will be introduced as well. His name is Solomon, who essentially does the leg work for the Cabal. Entertainment Weekly describes the character as unassuming with a capacity for violence.

The third season will get darker too. Megan Boone mentioned that this direction is valid and logical since the characters' dynamics as well as the story itself has taken a complete turn. Master Herald has an in-depth report on this.

Due to the stark difference in Liz's situation now, she'll spend the season trying to figure out the new ins and outs of her new life as a fugitive on the run. NBC's Robert Greenblatt said in the recently concluded Television Critics Association summer press tour, "The trajectory of the story is great since it is a switch-up from what the format has been. Liz and Reddington are literally on the escape. It is going to revitalize the whole show. It is a different feel this year."

"The Blacklist" Season 3 premieres October 1 on NBC.
