A new leaked photo of Google's upcoming Nexus 2015 smartphone has circulated online. The rumored handset's specs, specifically the camera, was revealed via a Google+ page.
Tech Tastic, a Dutch technology website, spotted a selfie of a Google employee using LG Nexus 5. The leaked photo confirms what previous online reports speculated to be the device codenamed "bullhead." Although many online leaks have so far revealed the handset's features and designs, the recent leaked photo gives new details about Nexus' front camera, iDigitalTimes said on Monday.
BGR reports that the said employee worked at Google's Quality Assurance Department. The leaker was identified to be a male employee, but apparently his facial details were blurred or pixelated to protect his identity.
It was said that the photo's EXIF data has a 2592 x 1944 resolution. According to industry experts, such resolution suggests that the handset's front-face camera is equipped with 5 megapixels and an f/2.0 aperture.
According to iDigitalTimes, Google's Nexus 5 2015 will likey feature a 5.2-inch Full HD or Quad HD resolution display. The handset will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or Snapdragon 808 chip, and it is expected to have 3 GB of random access memory (RAM) and storage capacity of 32GB, 64GB or 128 GB.
Recent rumors also suggest that the handset will feature a 3,180 mAh non-removable battery and Internet/Bluetooth connectivity such as 802.11ac Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.2, which will be powered by a MediaTek MT3188 wireless charging receiver and a Marvell Avastar 88W8897 connectivity chip.
"Google's 2015 Nexus handset is expected to launch alongside Android M and it will either be built by LG or Huawei - or there will be two devices; one from each manufacturer. There's also plenty of anecdotal evidence suggesting the Big G is keen to move its Nexus line back to how things used to be with the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5, meaning a potentially lower cost device in 2015," Know Your Mobile noted, adding that the handset will likely have an October or November launch.
