Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls broke her silence on VH1about her battle with bulimia in a shocking "Behind the Music" interview.
"I just hated myself, I really just hated myself," Scherzinger said in a clip of the interview's sneak peak on EW.com, according to the Daily News.
The Daily News reported that the former Pussycat Doll singer told VH1 at some point during the beginning of her career, she locked herself in the bathroom because she was given a skimpy outfit to wear, which she felt uncomfortable in.
"I got my outfit and my outfit was a bra and some underwear and some garters," she told VH1.
"I was sweating in the back room. I can't go out. I can't do this. I was not comfortable with my body."
According to the Daily News, even when the Pussycat Dolls became popular worldwide, her fellow singers noticed her bulimic ways. The singer forced herself to vomit so often that the scars were noticeable on her knuckles from the stomach acid burns.
"She didn't see a perfect figure when she looked in the mirror," Katie Morris, Scherzinger's best friend said in the interview.
"She said she saw thick thighs and chubby knees and she wanted blonde hair and different lips and a different nose."
Although the actress has overcome her disorder, she waited for some time to pass to break the news to her family.
"I hated myself," she said.
"I felt so alone. I was in a group and I never felt so alone in my life."
