"New Girl" Season 5 star Max Greenfield recently opened up about the upcoming season and his character Schmidt.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Greenfield said that Schmidt and Cece's (Hannah Simone) wedding will most likely push through because the former wouldn't get cold feet. However, this doesn't mean that their wedding preparations would go on smoothly.
Greenfield added that Schmidt will transform into a "Groom-zilla" and will hit a road block when he comes face-to-face with Cece's mom.
"She comes in on the fly and wants to meet this guy. She isn't thrilled with Schmidt. Schmidt is stressed out. He wants to make this thing work," he said.
Meanwhile, actor Jake Johnson, who plays the role of Nick on "New Girl," recently revealed why he doesn't want his character and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) to end up together. In an interview with People Magazine, Johnson said that "New Girl" will work best if the two don't end up together because they dominate much of the story.
The actor also confirmed that the filming for "New Girl" Season 5 has been pushed back to October because Deschanel is still on maternity leave. Johnson also revealed how challenging it was to film Season 4 because they had to hide Deschanel's growing baby bump. As such, Jess on the show would always be holding a pillow or a pizza box.
"New Girl" showrunner Liz Merriweather previously urged fans not to worry about Deschanel's absence from the show because it will only be temporary. While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Merriweather said, "Jess gets sequestered on a jury. The idea behind it was to be able to do those pastel courtroom sketches, so you could still see her in the jury. It's a little weird, but we're having fun with it," she said.
"New Girl" Season 5 will premiere on FOX sometime this year.
