"Under the Dome" fans have been keeping their hopes up that their favorite series would be renewed. As per Cartermatt's report, "Under the Dome" fans find the series fascinating with all its components involved. The show however does not usually meet the needed requirements in terms of live ratings. Complaints regarding the series remake have been constant as well, saying that "the show in no longer like what it once was".
Though it doesn't previously reach the required live ratings, the series was able to have high ratings in live +7 [it is a live view plus seven days of DVR viewing]. "Under the Dome" also has strong streaming deal with amazon which aids as an additional revenue stream.
As per TV by the Numbers, the show made significant improvements in terms of ratings. The August 6 episode of the show improved from a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic, it made a gradual increase up to a 1.5. This increase is one of the best for the week as it went up to almost 90%.
"Under The Dome" series was based on Stephen King's novel of the same title. It revolves around the story of the residents in Chester's Mill located in Maine. The people of Maine were cut off from the rest of the world by a transparent dome. Most people started to panic, while a small group of citizens however decided to stay calm amidst the chaos. The group led by Dale Barbra, an army veteran tries to find a way to escape the dome. They then did their best to maintain peace while attempting to find answers regarding the mysterious dome and its purpose.
The first episode aired on CBS two years ago, on January 24, 2013. CBS then renewed "Under the Dome" on October 9, 2014, the 3rd season then premiered on July 25, 2015.
