The official cast for "Survivor" Season 31 has now been revealed. During the post-finale cast reunion for Season 30, host Jeff Probst announced that the cast for Season 31 will be composed of 20 veteran castaways from previous seasons and will be chosen by the fans.
The new cast of "Survivor: Cambodia - Second Chance" are composed of the top 10 male and female veterans with the highest fan votes. Entertainment Weekly exclusively reported the complete set of the cast along with the two competing tribes for Season 31.
The two tribes are reported to be Bayon and Ta Keo. The oldest castaway is retired U.S. Navy pilot Terry Deitz who appeared in Season 12, and the youngest player is Spencer Bledson who is an economics student from Chicago who appeared in Season 28.
International Business Times has some observations and speculations as to how the group was divided into the tribes. According to the site, the Bayon tribe has members who are slightly older compared to the Ta Keo tribe. However, it seems like the Ta Keo tribe has the slight advantage in terms of its members' challenge wins. The members of the tribe have an average of 8.2 challenge wins while the Banyon tribe only has 7.1.
It was earlier reported that another twist was added to the show as the immunity idols will not only look different but will also be hidden in different places. In the beginning of the season, Probst revealed that they took the castaways on a tour of the island to let them learn about the history of the place. He added that in the beginning of the season, the castaways will be taking as many supplies as they can get from a huge boat. The added twist is that about 100 yards away there is another boat which contains a big bag of rice. He teased that the first episode will show a big chaotic scene.
"Survivor" Season 31 will air on CBS on September 23.
