Bits of information have been revealed about "Homeland" before it returns for Season 5, but fans are also wondering about the different relationships in the show.
Carrie Mathison's (Claire Danes) life will be different in Season 5 as she flies to Berlin and live a new life. HNGN revealed that Carrie will be raising her daughter with her new boyfriend Jonas Happich (Alexander Fehling). Some fans may reportedly be disappointed with Carrie's new love interest as they were hoping that she and Quinn (Rupert Friend) will be getting into a relationship after their touching scene during the Season 4 finale.
Executive producer Alex Gansa revealed in an interview that Quinn and Carrie's love story may not continue as it doesn't quite fit the timing, and for him relationships are all about timing. However, this reportedly does not mean that Quinn will not try to win Carrie back. Gansa revealed that Quinn will go into dark places in the upcoming season and he may also find himself between Carrie and Saul (Mandy Patinkin). It was reported that he will be deciding which is more important to him, love or loyalty.
As for Carrie, her new situation was said to reveal more unusual sides of her personality. According to Master Herald, Gansa said that now that Carrie is in a whole new world, she will try to reject her past to forget her guilt and try to forgive herself. With her move to a new country with a new job, it was reported that she will be dealing with issues of her own and will have more internal struggles.
It was earlier reported that Carrie might be considered as a traitor to the country now that she is working in a security agency in Germany, and she might also be considered as a spy by the Germans.
"Homeland" Season 5 will be returning to Showtime on October 4.
