Asus Zenfone: Company To Launch Zenfone 2 Successors, Zenfone Zoom And Zenfone Max in IFA 2015; Zenfone Max 5000 mAh Battery Can Double as Powerbank

Taiwan-based consumer electronics company Asus is planning to unveil at least two of its newest smartphones in the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) 2015 Event which is slated to kick off on September 4. Both Zenfone Zoom and Zenfone Max will be launched by the company during the event, as revealed by Jerry Shen, Asus CEO. Among the specifications of Zenfone Zoom and Zenfone Max is the former's camera which features a 3x optical zoom and the latter's 5,000 mAh battery, a report from BGR said on Tuesday.

According to the report, Zenfone Max has a massive 5,000 mAh battery which can also serve as a powerbank that can charge other devices. Zenfone Max was publicly announced during last month's Asus Zenfestival in New Delhin.

It was said that the smartphone will go on sale this October and in the same month, Asus will likely reveal its price. The handset features a 5.5-inch display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, and it will be powered by a Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core chipset with 2 GB of random access memory (RAM).

In terms of the camera, the device will have a 13-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture at the back and a 5-megapixel front camera. Other connectivity features include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Google's Android Lollipop is expected to be installed in Zenfone Max.

"As the name suggests, Zenfone Zoom's main USP is its camera. It boasts of a feature-rich 13mp camera with an OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), 3X optical zoom, 10-element lens that can add 12X digital zoom for finer close-up details. It also features the laser auto-focus technology, which is seen in the flagship LG G4," International Business Times reports.

It was also said that both Zenfone Zoom and Zenfone Max were showcased at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 at Las Vegas. Asus has yet to announce additional details about the smartphones such as the release date and price.
