"Five Nights At Freddy's 4" will soon receive new contents from its Halloween update. Game creator Scott Cawthon has revealed this via a Steam Community Page, Design & Trend reported on Tuesday.
"The October 31st content will be an automatic update, not DLC. It will update the game to 1.1 and will include lots of goodies on the extras menu (for those who have beaten night 6), including a cheat menu, a challenge menu, and a twist on a familiar minigame that provides a boost when playing challenge modes. This also means that there will be a whole new set of stars to earn for those who are up to the challenge!" wrote Scott Cawthon as posted on the Steam Community website.
Cawthon admitted that Easter eggs in the game have yet to be uncovered by players. If the eggs are put together, the biggest mysteries in the game will reportedly be solved.
"Cawthon points out that a Game Theory video from last year got 'almost everything right./" In an 18-minute explanation, it's suggested that the voice on the phone that gamers hear in the original 'Five Nights At Freddy's' is also the voice of a child murderer. Their young spirits subsequently haunt the franchise's creepy animatronic characters. Scott doesn't outright confirm this theory to be true, but there's a heavy suggestion that it might be," Design & Trend wrote.
Kotaku reports that Scott Cawthon has teased hardcore fans of what's coming for the game in October, which includes new challenges, a revamp of the game's settings and more. Aside from all of these, he also hinted of another horror-themed video game which reportedly won't be another "Five Night's at Freddy's" title.
Cawthon, however, claimed that the new video game "may not be ready" but stressed that "it will be a real challenge to have even a small playable portion by Oct. 31st. If a playable demo isn't ready by then, then at the very least there will be some sneak-peak content."
"'Five Nights at Freddy's' may be a divisive series, but it's hard to play down the franchise's success, with an army of hardcore fans and bucket-loads of sales. Meanwhile, the mysterious story of 'Five Nights at Freddy's' has sparked the imagination of many a gamer, and will even have a feature film adaptation. Let's see whether the fourth - and allegedly final - episode in the 'Five Nights at Freddy's' story brings closure to the series' fans," Gamerant noted.
