Real Estate Counties: California Is Home To the Top 10 Most Desirable Counties in the Country

California is rich in both history and culture. According to a previous article by history.com, "In 1850, California became the 31st state, and is now the third largest state behind Alaska and Texas." California is also home to famous cultural institutions and national parks. Famous places such as Hollywood, Disneyland, Yosemite National Park, Alcatraz, Angel Island and the Golden Gate Bridge as further reported by history.com. Looking at the geographical structure,

California has millions of acres of farmland which is why California leads the U.S. agricultural production as well. The capital of California is Sacramento. According to an article by history.com, "California has the largest economy in the United States and, in 1997, was the first state to reach the trillion-dollar benchmark in gross state product."

Besides being rich in land and heritage, California is also home to the top 10 most desirable counties in the country. What makes California desirable to live in? What are the factors that make it as such? According to a previous report by elledecor.com, "The U.S. Department of Agriculture ​analyzes six natural aspects of attractiveness, ​ including mild, sunny winters, temperate summers, low humidity, topographic variation, and access to a body of water, in order to measure the best and worst places to live."

The first off the list is Ventura County, California and according to elledecor.com, "Ventura is the single most desirable place to live in America." The Golden State County is also included in the list. Followed by Humboldt County, Santa Barbara County, Mendocino County, and Del Norte. These are the top five counties within California. While San Francisco County, Los Angeles County, San Diego County, Monterey County, and Orange County rank six through ten as stated in a report by elledecor.com.

All of these counties have six natural aspects of attractiveness, but it doesn't mean that the other counties are the worst place to live in. The analysis by The U.S. Department of Agriculture​is based on what they deemed best and not on personal preference alone.
