Walking dead characters Merle and Daryl Dixon may still have some secrets to reveal if a spinoff prequel would be pushed through. The actors portraying the characters of the two brothers in "The Walking Dead", Norman Reedus as Daryl, and Michael Rooker as Merle, are said to be open for a spin-off sequel.
The idea of a spinoff is not a new suggestion according to Reedus, he even once shared before via access hollywood that they have an on set joke for a spinoff series. Reedus was quoted saying that;
"We were talking about having a spinoff and it's Daryl and Carol living in Central Park, and all the squirrels are going missing so Bloomberg's putting out announcements that the squirrels are disappearing and we have sort of a [distillery] and tourist come by... and we try to charge them money. We have theme song that goes, 'Carol is sterile and Daryl is feral/a match made in hell.' So you never know, maybe that will happen."
And now that a fan asked via twitter posting that; "When TWD inevitably (& sadly) ends, would you be open to a Daryl & Merle spinoff prequel?" Reedus, was only left to reply, "that sounds super fun." And for Michael Rooker, whose character Merle is not originally part of comic series, he has this to say to The Walking Dead fans;
"If me and Norman had any more scenes than we already had in that series, it would already be the Merle and Daryl show." After the audience shouted out in approval, Rooker continued, "Robert Kirkman has a lot of things on his plate, and I don't know if that thought has ever crossed his mind, but he's a busy camper, and I haven't talked to him about it."
Though this concept still remains abstract and unfounded, fans are still hoping to see more of Merle and Daryl Dixon flashback material on the return of the hit television series this October.
