Earlier this year, the WhatsApp Web was released but to the disappointment of iPhone users, the application is restricted to fans of Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40 and Nokia S60. That is not the case anymore. In a report made by Neurogadget it was said that What'sApp has finally extended its reach to iPhone users allowing them to access their messages through a web browser. Furthermore it was said that iPhone users will now be able to sync their smartphones with the web version of WhatsApp and consequently allowing conversations to continue right from the web browser. That's not all. It was said that the "Apple platform limitations" would no longer apply to this app as the source says that there are reports saying that in due time iPhone users can have the app installed on their phones.
In another source, it was said that the iPhone functionality of the said app is being rolled out quietly on a user-by-user basis. To check whether the feature has been enabled users can head to web.whatsapp.com, the same address where the application itself can be accessed after it has been activated. It was said that the site will show a QR code that can be scanned using an option in the settings menu of WhatsApp, and if it is enabled then the feature will start working right away.
Furthermore the latter also says that WhatsApp for Web on iPhone doesn't need an update as it is already enabled from WhatsApp's end. However it does require users, across all platforms to be on the most recent version of the app. On the other hand, the web client requires Android users to run the phone version of the app. It therefore makes the app appear to be more of a remote control rather than a fully-featured chat application, according to a report by The Independent.
