NBC has narrowed its search for a host to lead the next season of "Celebrity Apprentice." The network reportedly wants Amal Clooney to replace Donald Trump in the show.
Sources told OK!Magazine that TV executives are looking at George Clooney's wife to head the boardroom for "The Celebrity Apprentice." The reasons stated was because she reportedly is a "perfect fit" for the role and because she is "well respected" in the field, reports Franchise Herald. The magazine report even remarked that Amal "has way better hair" and that "all she needs is a new catchphrase."
Meanwhile, the Franchise Herald report even listed some of Amal's qualifications which would make her a good fit as host for "The Celebrity Apprentice." George's wife is a world renowned human rights lawyer and activist. The Lebanon born lawyer graduated from the Oxford University and York University of Law. Amal also served as an adviser to the United Nations and is also a visiting professor at Columbia Law School.
According to the magazine, Amal is reportedly considering the hosting role.
In other news, NBC Entertainment Chairman, Robert Greenblatt, previously told E!News that Trump will "absolutely not" be returning to "The Celebrity Apprentice." During an interview at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, the NBC executive said, "At the moment, we're sort of separated." He added that the network has almost completed selling off its interests in the Miss USA Pageant.
Greenblatt also admitted that finding a replacement for the show's host has not been easy. "We're always looking for a host of that show who's going to make noise and be a big personality. There's a few people out there who fit that bill. I guess people are just in the political world looking for somebody who just speaks their mind, regardless of anything else. He does that...Whether you agree with what he says, he says it without any kind of filter."
Amal Clooney or representatives have yet to comment on the news. NBC has yet to identify when the next season of "The Celebrity Apprentice" will return to the small screen.
