"Star Wars" fans wondering about the true nature of the mysterious Kylo Ren should wonder no more. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams recently revealed more information about the character, along with a few background information regarding the First Order.
Abrams was very candid with his interview for the latest issue of Empire magazine. One of the details he revealed with the publication was that Kylo Ren is not Sith. The movie director even added that Kylo Ren works under the Supreme Leader Snoke, who is a powerful figure on the Dark Side of the Force.
Aside from the Kylo Ren reveal, Abram also gave a background about the First Order and a brief idea on the state of the universe for "The Force Awakens." He told the magazine, "That all came out of conversations about what would have happened if the Nazis all went to Argentina but then started working together again?'" Abrams reveals. "What could be born of that? Could The First Order exist as a group that actually admired The Empire? Could the work of The Empire be seen as unfulfilled? And could Vader be a martyr? Could there be a need to see through what didn't get done?"
According to SlashFilm, Abrams' revelation confirmed what fans have previously speculated about the enigmatic Knight of Ren. However, this further raised questions, states the site, about the character's motivation in the movie. Queries such as why he sided with the First Order, what does the Knight of Ren wants and how it aligns with what the First Order wants.
The site also mentioned that the influence of Nazis in the Empire is nothing new, although it does make sense that the presumed actions of the Nazis after the war would serve as the background behind The First Order. SlashFilm also stated that it would be interesting to discover whether Kylo Ren and the Supreme Leader Snoke's main goal in the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" may be different from what the Sith wanted as a whole. Or whether they are working together to bring balance to the Force.
Fans would have to find out when "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hits movie theaters this December.
