UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion, Ronda Rousey, released another verbal jab against, the undefeated five-division world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
Just few weeks after Rousey gave a comment that she could beat Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in a fight, now she has something new to say for the pound-for-pound king of boxing. TMZ (video link) caught Rousey off guard for an interview while walking her dog. When asked about Mayweather's boasting video, the UFC champ said in reply that;
"[Floyd] said, 'You make $300 million a night, then you can give me a call' ... and I actually did the math, and given the numbers of my last fight, I'm actually the highest-paid UFC fighter and I'm a woman. She then added that, I think I actually make two to three times more than he does per second ... so when he learns to read and write, he can text me... Yeah, I'm just more efficient."
Apparently the said retaliation of Rousey was because of a comment given by Mayweather against her via espn. Mayweather was asked about Rousey and in reply he said that;
"I've yet to see any MMA fighter, or other boxer, make over $300 million in 36 minutes. When she can do that, then call me."
In a calculation made by espn, Mayweather made $102,000 per second for his May 3 fight against Manny Pacquiao. The biggest bout in boxing history, according to espn, made at least $220 million for Mayweather in just 2,160 seconds. The calculation then continued that "if Rousey earned $102,000 per second for her 34-second fight against Bethe Correia, she would have had to have made $3.47 million. Earning two to three times more per second than Mayweather would mean she would have made between $6.9 million and $10.4 million for her Aug. 3 title fight."
The unofficial calculation still does not hide the fact that in this feud there is more to it than money. And with this latest comment, we may soon expect another counter-punch from Mayweather.
