In the new promotional video for Season 13 of the CBS top crime drama show, viewers will see if Special Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will survive or not. In the Season 12 finale, the agent was seen lying in the middle of the street after being shot.
In the video posted on International Business Times, the agent was seen being rolled into surgery. "Two and Half Men" star Jon Cryer will be playing as his surgeon, Dr. Taft. In the video, Gibbs was also seen together with his deceased daughter who seems to be leading him into the light while he is being operated on.
According to Design & Trend, showrunner Gary Glasberg revealed in an interview that the first part of the premiere episode will be a roller coaster ride of what happens during Gibb's surgery. He added that Gibbs has obtained serious injuries after being shot by one of the child terrorists the group was pursuing in Season 12.
Now that Gibbs is battling for his life, it was reported that the group will still continue their mission. According to Michael Weatherly, who plays agent Anthony DiNozzo, there will be a lot of major changes in Season 13.
In the absence of Gibbs, DiNozzo will be taking over the leadership role and will try to take down the child terrorist group called the Calling. He will reportedly be travelling to Shanghai with Joanna Teague, played by Mimi Rogers, to capture the terrorist once and for all.
With their leader fighting for his life, it was reported that a lot of characters will also step up in Season 13. Chief Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) will reportedly attempt to keep the team together; however, his friendship with DiNozzo will be tested in the upcoming season.
"NCIS" Season 13 will resume on CBS on September 22.
