'Kingdom Hearts III' Worlds: Past World Maps Or Locations Won't Be Featured, Reveals Game Director

"Kingdom Hearts III" director Tetsuya Nomura has recently announced that world maps or locations from the previous video games will not be featured in the upcoming title. The news comes after a translated text from a Korean Ruliweb interview in July revealed new developments for the game.

It was said that newswriters had to translate the transcript of the interview sourced from the said site. KH13 has provided the transcription of the interview so that players will be able to gain deeper understanding about Nomura's plan, Design& Trend said.

"Supplementing an earlier article that suggests the existing Pride Lands and Halloween town worlds will not be included in 'Kingdom Hearts III,' that notion has seemingly been expanded. The translation suggests that 'any map used in the first two [numbered] Kingdom Hearts games will not appear in 'Kingdom Hearts III.'" Even when paraphrased in English, however, that statement raises lots of questions," the report noted.

Design & Trend pointed out that Nomura's suggestion that the upcoming game won't have any world maps from the previous game was proven to be false.

"The single word worth noticing in this case is 'maps.' By using that word specifically, it only means that 'Kingdom Hearts III' won't feature any exact locations that we've seen before. There's also a possibility that a different location of the same universe will be made in order to give gamers a fresh look."

Meanwhile, Latinos Post noted that the translated report seems to contradict what the video game's trailer has revealed during the E3 event. It was reported that in the trailer, "fans saw the world of Hercules but with Mount Olympus with a twist." Another unpopular map is the Atlantis, and the map's underwater stage has hindered both players and designers to do more of the map's underwater feature.

As of press time, there's no announced release date yet for "Kingdom Hearts III."
