"Dance Moms" alum Chloe Lukasiak recently proved that she's better than her biggest dance rival, Maddie Ziegler. The young professional dancers were recently nominated at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards in the Choice Dancer category. Although thousands of Ziegler's fans anticipated a big win for their idol, it was Lukasiak who received the recognition in the end.
Upon accepting her award, Lukasiak gave a touching speech that showed how the underdogs could succeed, especially with the help and support of their fans.
"To anyone who's been told they can't do it, shouldn't do it, or they aren't good enough... ignore it, do it anyway, and prove them wrong!" she said.
According to Bustle, Lukasiak is not one to speak negatively about her former dance mentor, Abby Lee Miller. However, fans of "Dance Moms" have witnessed how she was always second to Miller's alleged favorite, Ziegler.
After leaving ALDC when she was 13, Lukasiak did not stop pursuing her dance career. Instead, she joined a different dance group and received training at the Studio 19 Dance Complex.
In an interview with OK! Magazine, Lukasiak dished on her and mom Christi's decision to leave ALDC and "Dance Moms."
"I did like dancing and it was an amazing opportunity to be able to dance on television and travel around the world with my best friends. We stayed until the time was right and I think when we left it was time to go. I think we stayed the right amount," she said.
In other news, Lukasiak also dished on her rivalry with Ziegler and acknowledged the fact that it really did happen on "Dance Moms."
"It's not really different than anything else. I've always competed against her my whole life. She was probably my biggest rival in the competition world," she told the publication.
Although Lukasiak can no longer be seen in the Lifetime reality TV show, the 14-year-old dancer continues to pursue her passion on a regular basis.
