What A-List Celebrities Look for When Buying a Home (PICTURES)

Sunshine and warm weather are some of the main components that attract celebrities to Hollywood. Others prefer the bright lights with busy and noisy streets of the Big Apple. But one thing all celebrities have in common is that they all want their privacy.

"Almost anyone with big sunglasses can go unnoticed in NYC and get sucked up by the city," Realtor Fredrik Eklund told Zillow.

Manhattan real estate agents told Zillow the must-haves and expectations that celebs look for when they house hunt in New York.

Agent Prince Dockery told Zillow that location is one of the biggest key for these Hollywood figures.

"They want to be close or en route to performance venues, airports, practice facilities and they want to be close to where their everyday schedule takes them."

According to Eklund, West Village, SoHo, Tribeca and Bowery areas are the current hot spots for these A-listers.

Space is another feature that celebs look for. They want extra rooms, extra closets, big kitchens, extra bathrooms and many more.

Dockery also said another important aspect celebs look for is amenities. They look for features that allow them to stay home and not leave their comfort zone if they don't have to.

"Gym, on-site parking, valet and a space to entertain in rather than going out," Dockery said.

Having plenty of outdoor space is another element that draws these A-listers to purchasing a home.

Eklund told Zillow that celebs try to stay away from co-ops because they want their privacy.

"Unless it's a newer co-op or fairly lenient co-op that operates more like a condo, many of my celebrity clients prefer to stay away from co-ops," Dockery said.

"We had a celebrity last year buy five storage units in the building," Eklund said.

"I guess he had a lot of clothes, and the closets in the apartment we not enough."
