"Fear the Walking Dead" showrunner David Erickson recently revealed some spoilers for the upcoming first and second episodes of the AMC series.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Erickson said that Madison and her family's reaction to the undead virus will be explored in episode 2. In the pilot episode, the series focused on Nick validating the attack he witnessed.
"You get to the end of the pilot and they go through this traumatic event with Calvin, who has already been shot, and then he's run over and hit again and he's twisted and torn in the dry L.A. river and he should be dead," he said.
Meanwhile, Erickson also talked about Alicia and her boyfriend Matt. In the pilot episode, the former did not realize how serious the outbreak was and she doesn't have any idea where Matt is.
"It'll change radically. For all that happens in the first season, we will still manage to structure in a way that our family is insulated. There's a whole world of discovery for them to get into when we get to season two," he said.
In other news, "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 1 will also tell the story of Alicia and her brother Nick's relationship. Erickson urged fans to watch out for the two characters because they will have an interesting dynamic and storyline in the series.
"They both had experience with death already, which will be interesting to explore as we move forward. The people who seem to have it together, who seem to be the most independent, competent and ready for anything, oftentimes are the ones who are going to suffer the greatest when it comes to the end of the world," he said.
"Fear the Walking Dead" Season 1 episode 1 also received the highest cable ratings for pilot episodes, according to Variety.
"Fear the Walking Dead" Season 1 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
