Although it is not on Elm Street, the house that Freddy Krueger haunted has undergone some serious renovations.
The owner of the home, Angie Hill told Zillow the property looked horrible.
"It was the only house on the street that looked beaten up. The pool looked like it hadn't been touched in 10 years - it was black," Hill said.
Hill bought the legendary home in 2006. The estate, where one of the characters in the original 1984 horror film "A Nightmare on Elm Street" faced the highly feared Freddy Krueger is actually located in Los Angeles.
The famous house was a delightful suburban cottage when it first appeared in the film but when Hill bought it 22 years later, it looked like something that came out of an actual scary movie.
According to Zillow, the home looked like it was neglected by the previous family who owned it. The house was falling apart and needed saving.
Paint was chipping, cracks were showing, and the concrete patio in the backyard was breaking apart.
Hill added that the home had the weirdest vibe.
You could feel the weird energy. There was a really oppressive odor," she said.
"I replaced every piece of wood and reconfigured the floor plan. I ripped off half the house."
Hill also told Zillow she bought the home with the intention of completely renovating it. She first burned sage to clear the weird energy in the house. Then she replaced the walls, ceilings, and roof. The work took nearly a year to complete before she could officially move in.
"I love my house," she said.
