The movie "No Escape" gets a bad review from the audience. However, stars Owen Wilson, Pierce Brosnan, and Lake Bell are said to escape trouble in the new movie.
Glide Magazine says that the new movie of Owen Wilson, Pierce Brosnan, and Lake Bell "No Escape" offers cheap terror. It says that the movie is some kind of a "mindless fodder" that has work its way before summer ends. People might have watched the film because they're feed up with those summer flick movies. But still audience wants for more besides the brain-frying effects, and that mind-numbing action, which don't last long. After staring at the big screen, the overwhelming intense action, things fade quickly in the background, and the storyline becomes dragging.
What seems a bit off is the casting of Owen Wilson. He might have done his first action film "Behind Enemy Lines," but still it is so unlikely of him to do action films. Well, since his character as a "dunderheaded" manager Jack Dwyer, that probably is the reason why he is drafted to do the role.
This is supposed to be an action-thriller film, but it seems that it has so many holes to be categorized in the said genre. It appears to be like a horror film instead. The "thrills and some moments of terror" have been achieved so poorly. The film could do better than just shortcutting the horror endangering the life of a child plus that savage and unwatchable rape scene. The storyline is so sloppy to draw out fear, and there character development has not been given enough attention.
Idaho Statesman says that the film might have deliver that "stomach-churning, eye-watering suspense" but it really fails to meet a good plot and character development. The film, unfortunately, has not escape from being criticized for its "misguided politics," and excessively dramatic narrative.
Are Owen Wilson, Pierce Brosnan, and Lake Bell in trouble as their new movie gets poor reviews? Rotten tomatoes has rated the film 43%, IMDb gives 6.8/10, and MetaCritic scores it 39%. There is no official statement if the movie hits the box office bomb.
"No Escapes" is still on theaters now.
