Singer James Blunt announced that he is saying good bye to the music industry with no further plans of returning.
"I just want to take some time out for myself," Blunt told The Daily Mail in an interview.
"I haven't got any plans to do more song writing. I have been chilling out since I finished my world tour and I've spent a lot of time in Ibiza."
The 38-year-old singer announced his retirement after facing a stellar career. He racked up 18 million in album sales, five Grammy nominations and two Brit Awards. He has also won a couple of MTV Music Video Awards.
According to the Huffington Post, Blunt began his music career after serving as an officer in the British Army's Life Guard.
He rose to fame with his 2005 album, "Back to Bedlam," which featured his hit song "You're Beautiful and "Goodbye My Lover."
Additional albums by the singer include 2007's "All the Lost Souls," and 2010's "Some Kind of Trouble."
His most successful album was "Back to Bedlam," selling 11 million copies and earning him five Grammy nominations. Those nominations included, Best New Artist, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album.
