'Fifty Shades Darker' Spoilers & Plot Rumors: Sequel May Not Live Up To 'Fifty Shades Of Grey?'

"Fifty Shades Darker" fans are anticipating the upcoming movie, but some of them believe it will be difficult to surpass "Fifty Shades of Grey."

According to Movie Pilot, a few details about "Fifty Shades Darker" have already been released online. However, the details about the film's actual plot are still scarce.

Just recently, it was revealed that "House of Cards" director James Foley could helm "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed." Although this report has not yet been confirmed by Universal Pictures, fans of the trilogy are divided in accepting the news.

Meanwhile, a teaser for "Fifty Shades Darker" has already been released online. In the clip, Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) could be seen putting his black suit and mask on.

In the book, the ball serves as one of the most epic moments between Christian, Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and Mrs. Robinson, who is still yet to be cast. This scene is where the two women would first meet each other in person.

Although the teaser received millions of views online, there's reportedly still a chance for "Fifty Shades Darker" to not be able to live up to the hype. Obviously, "Fifty Shades of Grey" was the first story from the trilogy that was adapted for the big screen. As such, fans were so excited how it will be shown in theaters.

As in several other films with sequels, there is always a risk for the film to not be embraced by fans. Those who want to see a more romantic "Fifty Shades Darker" will not be pleased to know that the sequel will be more of a thriller. As such, they might no longer want to watch the film altogether.

In other news, "Fifty Shades Darker" will also introduce three more characters, namely, Dr. Flynn, Leila Williams and Jack Hyde.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
