It seems like Cookie, who is played by Emmy-nominated actress Taraji Henson, will be having a new love interest in Season 2 of "Empire."
According to Christian Post, now that her ex-husband Lucious Lyon played by Terrence Howard is put in jail because of his involvement with the murder of Bunkie, Cookie will face more challenges and will possibly have a new love affair.
According to the report, this new love affair might be in the person of Laz Delgado, who will be played by Adam Rodriguez. It was said that the two will share some intimate scenes in Season 2. Henson revealed that she and Rodriguez already worked together before and they showed some chemistry in their previous projects as they starred in "I Can Do Bad All By Myself."
However, it was earlier reported that Rodriguez will only be in a recurring guest role. His character was described as a "smooth-talking concert promoter" and is expected to help the Lyon family overcome their crisis. It was also earlier reported that in Season 2 the family will have to deal with Lucious' imprisonment and will work over the power of Empire Records.
In the new teaser for "Empire" Season 2, it can be seen how the family will cope with their problems, and it also involves a lot of confrontations. According to Daily Mail UK, in one of the scenes in the teaser there was a confrontation scene between Cookoe and Anika Calhoun, aka Boo Boo Kitty (Grace Gealey).
There were also other reported confrontation scenes involving Jamal (Jussie Smollett) as he faces his ex-boyfriend Michael (Rafael de La Fuente). It is also expected that the tension between the brothers Jamal and Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) will still continue in Season 2.
"Empire" Season 2 will air on September 23 on FOX.
