Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: Kimye Settles With YouTube Founder Over Leaked Engagement Video for $440,000

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are still raking thousands of dollars from their engagement that happened at the AT&K Park, home of the San Francisco Giants baseball team back in 2013. After two years, the popular couple is getting a substantial amount of $440,000 after suing YouTube founder Chad Hurley for the illegal footage of the event.

According to Kim and Kanye's lawyer, the couple takes all matters seriously. They sued the YouTube founder for unspecified damages for alleged breach of contract, fraud and unjust enrichment.

"My clients brought this case because they take confidentiality agreements seriously," Kardashian and West's lawyer told E! News. "We are gratified that California's trial and appellate courts upheld all our claims in this matter. With Mr. Hurley's settlement payment, we believe a fair and just outcome has been achieved."

On Thursday, both camps reached a settlement of $440,000. Hurley remained mum on the issue.

It was in October 2013 during Kim's 33rd birthday when the "FourFiveSeconds" singer popped the question to the 34-year-old reality TV star. The whole proposal was covered by an official website and "Keeping Up with the Kardashians, (KUWTK)" but surprisingly, there were some unauthorized outlets that were able to film it, according to Mirror.

Hurley apparently secretly recorded the pair's engagement and posted it on his website MixBit. Upon learning the presence of MixBit's logo in the recorded video, the couple alleged that the YouTube mogul appeared at the event with someone who signed the confidentiality agreement.

Kim and Kanye filed a lawsuit against Hurley right away. However, both parties reached a settlement that if he pays the couple $440K, the suit will be dropped. The couple's lawyer claims that with the payment, he believes that his clients have achieved fair and just results.

Kim and Kanye got married in 2014 in Italy after the controversial proposal. The rapper gave his now-wife a $1.6 million 15-carat diamond ring. The "KUWTK" star is currently pregnant with their second child.
