The first trailer for "Iron Man 3" premiered Tuesday, giving it fans a sneak peak of Tony Stark's new armor, teasing shots of his seaside mansion invaded and the first look at Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin.
One thing not seen in the first trailer is the Chinese angle producers of the movie promised its fans in April, when Walt Disney Co., Marvel Studios and Beijing-based DMG Entertainment announced filming the movie in China last summer.
"Adding a local flavor, and working with our new local partner, will enhance the appeal and relevance of our characters in China's fast-growing film marketplace," Rob Steffens, general manager of operations and finance for Marvel, said in a statement, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Dan Mintz, DMG chief executive said at the time that the film would be "the first multibillion-dollar franchise to be produced between Hollywood and China."
However, with the release date of the movie, May 3, fast approaching, filming in China has yet to begin. Instead, the film is being filmed in North Carolina and is expected to wrap up soon, Los Angeles Times reported.
