They can do large scale scheme like stealing from stock market to a lower task like watching your every move or stealing your identity.

Mobile Data are better than Public Wi-fi. Hackers can take advantage public wi-fi networks to gain personal information. If you are going to log-in to your smart home and do some adjustments, make sure that you are on a secure network or better yet just use mobile data.

Install home security protection. Smart Homes are best if they are side by side with a reliable and strong home security protection. Install home protection from a reputable company and make sure to understand what are the purposes and use of their features.
