‘Harry Potter’ stars’ Twitter rivalry receives JK Rowling’s approval

J.K. Rowling applauds a series of friendly teasing on Twitter between "Harry Potter" stars Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy).

"So proud of my boys. Even after all these years, they still want to kick each other's arses," Rowling posted on Twitter, pertaining to Lewis and Felton's back-and-forth teasing referencing their respective Hogwarts houses.

The friendly exchange came after Lewis retweeted a trailer of "Risen," an upcoming movie starring Felton. Felton said to Lewis, "Ready for a crushing defeat?? #Gryffinwho?" To which Lewis responded, "Leave it out. We've got plans for you boys. You're gonna get Slytherinsed."

Rowling has been active on Twitter and as it turned out, she still keeps an eye on her old "Harry Potter" casts, according to Entertainment Weekly. In May, she reacted to shirtless photos of Lewis for the U.K.'s Attitude magazine, which showed that the dorky Neville is now a handsome man.

Meanwhile, moviefone.com says the Biblical epic "Risen" will enable "Harry Potter" fans to see Felton in a new light. Former bad boy Draco Malfoy will play as Lucius, an aide of a powerful Roman Military Tribune named Clavius. The movie, which will hit theaters in January 2016, revolves around what happened to Jesus after he died in the cross and the effort to disprove that he had risen and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem.

In other news, the filming of the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" movie is expected to begin sometime at the end of this year, according to FlickeringMyth.com. This "Harry Potter" spinoff is based on Rowling's book released in 2001. It will bring the wizarding world fans back into the magical realm. "Fantastic Beasts" will be a trilogy of films, with the first installment already scheduled to be released on Nov. 18, 2016. The next one will open in 2018 and the final film will be in 2020.
