Major League Baseball All-Star pitcher Barry Zito has finally sold his estate in Kentfield, California for $8.125 million.
It stayed listed in the market for three years and the then San Francisco Giants baseball player asked for $11.495 million. But during the same year, Zito lead his team to a World Series title which explains his lack of time attending to the sale of his house. According to Realtor.com, Zito's property was made available for buyers in 2012 and it stayed for sale up until 2015. He became a member of the Oakland Athletics just before the start of the 2015 season and has slowly faded into the minor league.
The 37-year-old lefty pitcher bought the house for $8.863 million in 2007, according to Los Angeles Times. The house was built in 2002 and was designed Mediterranean style. The property grounds cover more than two acres and it has a great view of Phoenix Lake and Mt. Tamalpais. There is a rotunda in front of the main house which leads to a step-down living room area. The ceilings are high with beams ala cathedral style and the 7,116 square feet of space is divided generously into a formal dining area, a family room, a kitchen with center-island, and a wine cellar that also acts as tasting room.
Los Angeles Times also described the house as perfect for entertaining guests outdoors or indoors. There are glass walls that open up to the terrace and garden with stunning views. The mansion has four bedrooms, five baths and a separate guesthouse. There is also an outdoor kitchen joined by a fireplace and an infinity swimming pool. There is a spa which makes the grounds perfect for relaxation. Lastly, the house has a large parking space and a three-car garage.
Zito won two World Series titles with the Giants.
