"Chicago PD" will return for Season 3 next month and fans are anticipating on what will happen between Detectives Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush). According to Christian Today, executive producer Matt Olmstead revealed in an interview that the couple might rekindle their romance in Season 3.
In Season 2, Halstead and Lindsay went their separate ways because Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) discovered their relationship and threatened to fire them both from the department. However, it was reported that in Season 3, Halstead is still determined to win Lindsay back. EP Olmstead said that their reconciliation may take a while since Lindsay still needs some time to be herself. He added that the main concern for Lindsay is to get back on her feet.
It was earlier reported that Lindsay was depressed because of her problems at work and her personal life. Sophia Bush, who plays the character, told the Hollywood Reporter that going back to work and getting back on her feet won't be easy for Lindsay. She added that Lindsay will have a hard time adjusting to the new rules imposed on her and she will also deal with the consequences of her past actions.
Bush revealed in the interview that once Lindsay comes back to work for the department, everything will be different. She said that her experiences had changed the way she processes things but she is still the same good cop that she is. Bush said, "At the end of the day, she is who she is and this is the one good thing that she's good at." She added that Lindsay will be proving herself to a lot of people in Season 3, most especially to the guys in her unit.
"Chicago PD" Season 3 will air on NBC on September 30.
