NBA Legend Michael Jordan's Jersey in 'Space Jam' Up For Bids Soon

The "Space Jam" jersey of NBA's "the greatest player of all time" Michael Jordan will be placed for auction in fall.

Fans of the Chicago Bulls guard and the movie could bid to take home the basketball jersey with an estimated list price ranging from $10,000 to $15,000 for the complete set that includes a size 38 shorts, according to Vanity Fair. The item is described as having "signs of wear" and has "minor staining."

Vanity Fair also said that Profiles in History will be the firm in-charge of the "Space Jam" jersey auction. It is based in Los Angeles and has "Glee" and "Mad Men" listed among their high-profile clientele. The jersey has a Tune Squad logo and the famous number 23 which is strongly identified with the basketball legend. USA Today reported that the auction will take place on Oct. 1 and that the starting bid is at $10,000.

Yahoo Sports blog "Ball Don't Lie" published a complete description of the "Space Jam" articles to be placed in the auction which read "Michael Jordan uniform from Space Jam. (Warner Bros., 1996) Screen worn complete basketball uniform including (1) XL AIS brand mesh, red, white and blue-trimmed sports jersey with 'Tunesquad' logo on the front and signature number '23' emblazoned on the back and (1) matching pair of size 38 shorts. Worn in the climactic showdown between Michael Jordan's 'Tunesquad' and the 'Monstars.' With signs of wear and minor staining. In production used fine condition."

In 1996, Jordan starred in "Space Jam" movie which is a mash-up of animation and live action. The film follows a group of alien villains who plan to kidnap every character in the "Looney Tunes" and make them the star attraction of their new theme park. Bugs Bunny and friends challenge them to a basketball game in a winner-take-all bet. The aliens then steal the talents of NBA stars while the "Looney" squad looks to Jordan as their last great hope.
