Huawei Nexus 6 2015 Release Date: Google Handset's New Leaked Pics Show Big Camera, Metal Body

New leaked photos of a Huawei device with a Nexus logo has surfaced earlier this week. Industry experts were quick to brand the device as Huawei's upcoming Nexus 6 2015.

The leaked images show an all-metal build, a rear fingerprint reader, laser autofocus, dual front speakers and a big camera bump. Although it is common knowledge that Google is planning to release two new Nexus devices this year, the recent leaks suggest that Huawei's Nexus 6 will be officially launched in October, a report from Design & Trend said.

"This time, the Huawei Nexus has showed up in images posted on Google+ by Tiesen Fu, and the pictures closely match the device seen in the previous leaked renders. The latest images clearly show the 'Nexus' logo printed in a huge font on the back of the device, with a fingerprint reader positioned above the logo, similar to the LG Nexus. But what stands out in particular is a huge black rear camera bump running horizontally across the length of the handset and sticking out significantly," the report noted.

Technews Today reports that the leaked photos suggest that Huawei's Nexus 6 device measures 159.4x78.3x6.6 with a thickness of about 8.5mm. It was said that the phone will be available in two colors: black and silver.

In terms of hardware specifications, the company will reportedly likely use a Hi-Silicon hardware and the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset with a 3 GB LPDDR4 random access memory and a storage capacity of 64 GB. Recent reports claim that the handset will be running Google's Android 6.0 Marshmallow with additional features that will improve its stability and performance.

It was previously reported that Google's next iteration of Android flagship devices will be manufactured by both LG and Huawei. LG's Nexus smartphone will have a dimension of 5.2 inches while Huawei's phablet will be 6 inches. The specifications and features of both Nexus devices were widely reported via numerous leaks and rumors along with press renders. However, with no official statement coming from Google, such reports should be taken with a grain of salt unless otherwise confirmed by the company.
