iPhone 6s Release Date & Rumors: Apple Invites Media For Sept. 9 Fall Event

Tech giant Apple has invited media for its September 9 Fall event which at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California. A press invitation was issued by the company last week, sparking further speculations that the rumored iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, a mini iPhone 6c and Apple TV will be finally unveiled during the event. The invitation sent out to the media features an artwork and the tagline "Hey Siri, give us a hint," a report from Design & Trend said.

Macrumor states that this year's Apple Fall event will showcase the company's next-generation iPhones which feature a reinforced body constructed from a 7000 Series aluminum, a Force Touch technology, an A9 processor, 2GB RAM, and an improved camera.

Aside from the smartphones, rumor has it that the next-generation Apple TV, which is a major update from the current set-top box, will also be unveiled. It was said that the soon-to-be-unveiled Apple TV features a redesigned chassis and will be powered by an A8 processor. Other specs and features expected are a touch-based remote control, more storage space capacity and a new software system that includes Siri support and a full App Store.

"The new box is expected to run a TV-optimized version of iOS 9 with a refreshed interface and, for the first time, may be opened up to the app community, with Apple expected to unveil a software development kit (SDK) that allows developers to build apps. At present, only a handful of third-party programs feature on the Apple TV and introducing an SDK and App Store would expand this significantly," Telegraph UK stated.

Meanwhile, Techradar describes Apple's launch event as "larger than usual," considering that San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, this year's venue, can host 7,000 people. It can be recalled that Apple's media event last year was held at Flint Center in Cupertino, which is relatively smaller compared to Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
