Being rich is not all times wonderful and fun. Sometimes with all the things already given, the fun side of seeking what is essential seems to be outweighed of what is already laid in front. The man behind the successful computer game, Minecraft, Markus "Notch" Persson, has a series of testimonies to prove such cliché.
Persson who now belongs to the billionaires' league has confessed his feeling of sadness within. Despite earning $2.5 billion after selling Minecraft to the tech giant Microsoft, the 36 year old founder of Mojang still feels unhappy.
In a series of tweets posted Saturday, Persson revealed the feelings of melancholy in his life despite the success. Persson started by twitting, "The problem with getting everything is you run out of reasons to keep trying, and human interaction becomes impossible due to imbalance."
This human interaction seems to be a paradox for the billionaire, for despite the attention and the people around him he still feels isolated. He then continued to tweet by saying, "Hanging out in Ibiza with a bunch of friends and partying with famous people, able to do whatever I want, and I've never felt more isolated."
Persson in one of his tweets explained one the many effects of being wealthy in relevance to freedom and relationship. Persson stated that, "In Sweden, I will sit around and wait for my friends with jobs and families to have time to do shit, watching my reflection in the monitor." He then added that, "found a great girl, but she's afraid of me and my life style and went with a normal person instead."
Such idea of not determining what you want seems to be easily answered by aiming for higher things. But the idea of aiming for something higher, such as philanthropy, is not that appealing to Persson. In his statement, he said that;
"I would Musk and try to save the world, but that just exposes me to the same type of [explitive] that made me sell minecraft again."
