MI6: British Intelligence Agency Spy Hacked Into Data on Bill Clinton Before Death, Report Says

Five years after the death of British Intelligence Agency spy, Gareth Williams, the true details surrounding his death remain a mystery. To add to the case, current reports now indicate that the deceased agent breached his security clearance to hack into former U.S. president Bill Clinton's secret data.

According to U.K.'s The Sun, the 31 year old agent and codebreaker was said to have accessed the former U.S. president's diary to secure a guest list for an event Clinton was going to. Williams reportedly did the diary hack as a favor to a friend. The data breach have reportedly angered the heads of the British Secret Intelligence Service, also known as the MI6.

A source told the publication that the news came at an inopportune time given the growing tensions with US security services over Williams' transatlantic work. The insider said, "The Clinton diary hack came at a time when Williams' work with America was of the most sensitive nature. It was a diplomatic nightmare for Sir John Sawers, the new director of MI6 at the time."

The report also cited how the deceased spy's work with the Agency remains a secret, however sources revealed that Williams' dealt with "equipment that tracked the flow of cash from Russia to Europe." Said equipment reportedly allowed MI6 to follow money trails from accounts in Russia to criminal gangs.

Meanwhile, human mole and expert in confined spaces rescue Peter Faulding revealed his suspicion that there was foul play involved in William's death, reports the Irish Mirror. The spy was found dead inside a padlocked bag in a bathtub at his London house in 2010. Previous investigation yielded mixed results wherein a coroner ruled that Williams was killed unlawfully, while the Metropolitan Police decided in 2013, that the spy had locked himself inside the bag and that no one else was involved.

The Irish Mirror report mentioned how Faulding, who bears a similar body build and height to the deceased spy, have reportedly tried several times to fit himself inside an identical bag and lock it from the inside. Faulding told the inquest into Williams' death that the scenario was "unbelievable" and even mentioned that "escapologist Harry Houdini would have struggled" with it also. The 52 year old confined spaces expert also shared that he managed to get himself inside the bag and zipped it close. However, he said "there was no way I could have put the padlock on the outside too." Faulding added, "I told the coroner I believe he was dead before he was put in the bag - that he was murdered."

The Metropolitan Police mentioned Williams' death having been the "subject to a thorough investigation" and inquests, states The Sun, and they were "not prepared to speculate".
