"Mission Impossible 5" Makes Over $300 M In US Box Office, Others Follow Suit

"Mission Impossible 5", "Straight Outta Compton", and other big titles are still the reigning movie blockbusters this weekend had seen.

According to an article on deadline.com, the fifth installment of the Mission Impossible franchise has earned $8.3 million as of this weekend, with moviegoers and critics still having the knack for Tom Cruise's action-filled surprises. As per the site's first movie updates, "Mission Impossible 5: Rogue Nation" came up to the $309 million mark, with a $15.3 million tally coming from 64 countries. "Terminator: Genisys" also passed the $300 M benchmark, garnering an overseas total of $320.1 million alone. The former now has a global total of $479.4 million, whereas the latter has $409.5 million under its name. These two bigwigs however, aren't able to compare to the newest biopic "Straight Outta Compton", which opened as the #1 in the UK and has already grossed a worldwide total of $140.9 million even after opening only in just 2 weeks.

"Jurassic World" continues to dominate the international movie market, most recent in Japan, and has now earned its take at $1.637 billion in worldwide earnings, according to the same article.

Screenrant.com also featured another article on the movie chart-toppers of the week. "Straight Outta Compton", with just a $28 million budget, is being hailed as the most profitable of movies for this month. "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" comes in third over this weekend's profits and continues to hold on against the biopic topper.

Still in the same article, new movie "War Room" delivered an $11 million surprise after opening for under 3 days. TriStar Pictures' newest religious drama drew the hefty amount with only $3 million to its name. Coming in fourth is the thriller film "No Escape", which made a sizable $8.3 million during the weekend as well. "Sinister 2", "The Man From U.N.C.L.E" and "Hitman: Agent 47" also ended the weekend with equally fair shares.
