Just recently, AMC has launched the 'Fear the Walking Dead,' a companion show to its hit 'The Walking Dead'. The spin off series will unfold a series of events that took place before Rick Grimes wakes up and finds out that his world is not what it used to be. It can be recalled that the show's creator Dave Erickson had said that the companion show won't be going full zombie until the end of season 1. On the other hand, for the fans who are already looking forward to seeing the zombies, they will have something to look forward to according to a report published by Mail Online. It was said that AMC is planning to come up with a special that will complement both the spin-off series and the original series, The Walking Dead. Mail Online further said that according to Variety the special will bridge the gap between the two shows with a plot that revolves around a group of people who encounters a "walker" mid-flight. It was also reported that one survivor will join the cast of Fear the Walking Dead in Season 2.
Additionally, when Entertainment Weekly first broke the news, the project was referred to as a half-hour special but Mail Online says that following the standalone's debut, it is supposed that the story will be carry on as a miniseries that will be available online and aired during commercial breaks on AMC during Fear The Walking Dead.
Many things are expected from the spin off series. In another source, Forbes, several points on how Fear the Walking Dead can avoid the original show's early mistakes were enumerated. For one, it was said that there should be fewer idiots to keep viewers from yelling at their screens as if the character would hear it when told, "not to go there or do this or that!" Furthermore the spin off show is expected not to drag revelations that everybody already knows for a long period like 6 years, such as zombie bites turn people and zombies die through headshots. On the brighter side, the creators of Fear promised "no woods" so viewers can expect something totally different from The Walking Dead.
