'The Vampire Diaries' Cast Said Their Goodbyes To Nina Dobrev

Nobody expected this coming until we hear the goodbyes from "The Vampire Diaries" cast members itself. Nina Dobrev leaving the supernatural vampire series "Vampire Diaries" and her character Elena Gilbert will always seem a bittersweet parting.

EW released a sneak-peak video of parting messages from cast members Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore), Michael Malarkey (Enzo), Candice Accola (Caroline Forbes), and even Executive Producer Julie Plec. The cast described their working relationship with Dobrev. Malarkey even regarded her as their "queen bee" and how she is going to be missed greatly.

Dobrev reported leaving the show earlier in April after 6 years of being in the show and playing various characters.

"It's been a big part of my life, and I want it to be beautiful. I want it to end well." Dobrev said in the article of Mirror.

Dobrev emotionally said many goodbyes for the show. She regarded the show as a great factor for her "growing up" and through that growth comes in "change."

In the recently held Teen Choice Awards where Dobrev won Choice TV Actress: Sci-Fi/ Fantasy, she announced the farewell for the show again.

Dobrev said from the article of EW, "The last few months have been a big change for me. Change. It's a scary word, or I used to think that, because it meant new beginnings. New beginnings with a future that was unknown. But change is necessary. Necessary for you to grow up and learn and to better yourself, because everything in life comes to an end."

She also said, "Just like Elena, I started the show as a young girl, and together we grew up. We've grown up and over the last six years we've become women. These were six incredible years that I've had the pleasure of sharing with all of you guys. I wouldn't be here with you. I wouldn't be here without Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson. They changed my life with this role. Sorry. Three roles. Four roles. It's hard to keep track these days."

Dobrev's departure from "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 of the series will do a great change for the show and many even wonder how the show will run its course without her. Executive Producer Julie Plec said in Variety, "For me, as we shed characters over the next couple of years, there's a challenge of keeping the storytelling fresh and exciting, and seeing if we can keep the audience excited and invested in the show because it takes a new spin and a new direction that's entertaining."

Plec even sweetly supported the young actress on her decision. She said from Mirror, "Nina is excited to spread her wings, get some rest, travel the world and also take it by storm, and we support her a thousand-fold."
