Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling sparked engagement rumors after the actress was seen with a massive emerald ring. Reports have it that Mendes, 41, was seen wearing the sparkler for some time now. Many have speculated that the ring could be Ryan Gosling's gift to his partner of three years, and it was inspired by their daughter Esmeralda.
E! News reports that the mother of one has been wearing the ring for about 12 weeks now. She has been seen wearing the ring on her right hand since June. She was also seen sporting it when she stepped out for new "Dimensions Skincare" Estee Lauder red carpet event last month. However, the "2 Fast 2 Furious" actress hasn't commented on the engagement rumors.
The "Ghost Rider" star was also seen wearing the green ring on her Instagram post six weeks ago. Some predicted that the couple was already engaged since they were known to be notorious when it comes to keeping their relationship private.
OK! Magazine reported that if it was not an engagement ring, the sparkler might be Ryan's gift for the actress to settle all their differences. An insider claims that "Eva and Ryan were struggling to compromise on issues regarding how to raise their 11-month-old daughter, and whether or not they are actually ready for marriage."
"They used to have incredible chemistry, but the fun has been sapped from their relationship," the source said.
Meanwhile, Eva is known as a doting mother to Esmeralda. She claimed that she enjoys motherhood and shared how she appreciates her own mother more now that she's a mother too, according to Hello Magazine.
"Now I understand so much," she revealed. "My mother's never gotten more 'I love you so much mummy' texts, I mean randomly... yeah, I get it now."
Eva and Ryan started dating while filming "Beyond the Pines" in 2012. She gave birth to their daughter in September 2014. They named their baby Esmeralda Amada from their favorite characters from the Victor Hugo novel "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" Amada was taken from her grandmother's name, which means "beloved" in Spanish.
