Billy Ray Cyrus Talks About Miley: "World Needs Positive Influences"

Miley Cyrus' dad Billy Ray opened up about his daughter's public comportment.

During the MTV Video Music Awards, where Miley hosted the show, Billy Ray spoke to E! and shared some thoughts about his daughter sexuality, "We've always been very open-minded. Listen, it's all about love and light. Forget the negativity and the haters."

Although Miley received some backlash from the public because of her infamous twerk and sticking tongue out, Ray insisted that his daughter is a role model to the viewers.

"She's rocking and rolling and having a good time. What the world needs is love. There's too much hate...The world needs positive influences."

Two years ago the 'Wrecking Ball' singer left behind Disney princess persona and became one of the controversial stars in the music business after she twerked with Robin Thicke at the MTV Music Awards. Although she's making some controversial headlines, Ray still shows support for his daughter.

"Even when she was a little girl, we told her, 'Hey, baby, do what you do and have fun doing it. Do it because you love it, not because you have to,'" Billy Ray said. "Seeing her happy is the greatest thing ever."

Just recently, Cyrus showed her definition of fashion by posting completely naked hours before hosting the MTV Video Music Awards. In her Instagram account Miley, post her nude pic, which she captioned, "When yiew da host so you gotta get to the #vmas early AF!!!!!"

Cyrus is rumored to be dating the Victoria's Secret Angel Stella Maxwell. However, during her posed for the October issue of Elle U.K, the singer cleared out that she is not in a relationship. She admitted in the mag, "I'm 22, I'm going on dates, but I change my style every two weeks, let alone who I'm with. I'm very open about it; I'm pansexual. But I'm not in a relationship."
