Kim Kardashian Posts Corrective Ad of Morning Sickness Pills

Kim Kardashian has posted "#CorrectiveAd" on her Instagram, following Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned about her drug promotion that violates endorsement rules, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star wrote to her account, "I guess you saw the attention my last #morningsickness post received."

Then her statement goes on, "The FDA has told Duchesnay Inc. that my last post about Diclegis (doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine HCl) was incomplete because it did not include any risk information or important limitations of use for Diclegis. A link to this information accompanied the post, but this didn't meet FDA requirements. So, I'm re-posting and sharing this important information about Diclegis."

Her post continued with the possible side effects of Diclegis, including drowsiness and can "pass into breast milk" for nursing moms.

The reality star, who has millions of followers in social media, promoted and recommend the drug through her Instagram account and claimed that the drug is suitable for women suffering from morning sickness and "no increased risk" to infants.

Which was quickly slammed by the FDA claiming that the endorsement violates rules for drugs because the Kardashian star only listed the positive effects and failed to indicate the possible side effects of the medicine, it is "false and misleading... it omits material facts," according to FDA.

In a letter that was posted online addressing the manufacturer, Duchesnay, FDA wrote, "Because the violations described above are serious and repeated, we request, further, that your submission include a comprehensive plan of action to disseminate truthful, non-misleading, and complete corrective messages about the issues discussed in this letter to the audience(s) that received the violative promotional materials."

After the agency ordered the company to completely remove the post from the social media that could have endangered numerous lives, Kim's endorsement has been removed from her page since then.
