2016 Honda CR-Z Update: Specs, Features, Release Date - Will Launch in Japan and U.S. Later this Year; Features a Refreshed Look and Upgraded Interiors

Honda is giving a much-needed refresh of its 2016 Honda CR-Z Model. This sporty hybrid car features significant upgrades and improvements that may lead to an increase in sales. To launch in Japan and in the U.S. this year, the 2016 Honda CR-Z's front fascia will be getting a new and more sculpted look. The front of the car will feature a "wing-like lip'' supporting the grille and flares around the fog lights. The wheels have been redesigned which now use 17-inch alloy wheels.

As reported by Ecumenical News, Honda has also updated the car's stereo and entertainment system. The car has a new touch panel audio screen, a new sound system, and an engine amplifier that can produce revving sounds when a user steps on the gas. It also features a noise cancellation that aims to reduce road noise. The 2016 Honda CR-Z also features an improved brake where the lever-style parking brake has been replaced with an electric park brake. The disc brakes have been upgraded to 15 inches from a previous 14 inches.

The sports hybrid car retains its 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and its small electric motor which when combined can deliver 100kW and 190 N of torque. Automotive News reports that the redesigned Honda CR-Z model will be launched in Japan by October this year and will launch the following month in the U.S.

Steering News reported that the previous model of Honda CR-Z is set to get a refreshed look in Japan for 2016 model. The redesigned model gets a revised front fascia with restyled bumper and new LED headlamps. On the sides, there's a new skirt and sportier wheels. The rear bumps has been redesigned too, in line with the changes on the front and sides to give the sporty car a more aggressive appeal. The changes made inside the car include revisions to the steering wheel, gearbox panel, centre console, and door handle.
