After her success over Bethe Correia during their 34 seconds UFC match and the most talked about exchange of verbal jabs with Floyd Mayweather Jr., Ronda Rousey is again the talk of the town because of her supposed mouthwatering video. I don't want to mislead you into something, but the video is part of her Carl's Jr. advertisement.
Yup, Rousey is now one of Carl's Jr. endorser. It can be remembered that this fast food joint is best known for "ads featuring scantily clad supermodels and decadently unhealthy burgers." However, in the ad, the said UFC champ is seen as not being overtly sexualized, hence the video seems to mark a deviation from its usual clips.
Over the past decades, Carl's Jr. hired the likes of Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and Heidi Klum "to messily eat fatty burgers in skimpy clothing on racy commercials." But for Rousey she has something different to offer.
Brad Haley, chief marketing officer for parent company CKE Restaurants, sees Rousey as someone different from those super models they hired before. For Haley Rousey is absolutely a good fit for the company. As to his words, Haley remarked that;
"We think Ronda's beautiful and she's hugely popular and just getting more popular all the time so she's absolutely a good fit for us... The great thing about Ronda is she's got universal appeal. She's liked and respected by both men and women... She's a beautiful athlete in the ring but she also has kind of a sweeter tender side so that combination was a nice fit,"
This move of the manangement somehow agrees to some of the criticisms regarding their advertising approach. Though they don't mind toeing the line of decency to win the heart of customers, this time around seems to have straigthen such thought. But still to Haley's words, he said that.
"As with a lot of things in life, if our ads are something our target might disagree with their parents sometimes about, it's even more desirable for them. Our primary goal is to do something that our target thinks is cool."
