Kilo, Ignacio and Jimena: 3 Major Hurricanes For First Time Ever

Kilo, Ignacio and Jimena are not just your ordinary names, for they signify the hurricanes in the whirling in the Pacific. This never been seen before phenomena was considered as first in recorded history. Three Category 4 hurricanes appearing in the Pacific Ocean at the same is indeed a noteworthy meteorological event.

However, though the event is astonishing in itself, it likewise brings threatening power. As of now hurricane Ignacio poses the biggest threat to Hawaii for it is just about 450km away from the island and is expected to travel north of the Hawaiian Islands on Tuesday or Wednesday. With its contained winds up to 217 km, residents should be on guard for heavy rains and winds with a speed of 63 km/h.

Jimena on the other hand, has still no exact path of choice, but still expected to sustain its 'major hurricane.' status. And the least threatening among the three hurricane trios, Kilo, is moving up the open waters of the Pacific at around 220km/h. But still, though the path of the hurricane are seemingly geared towards the coast of Hawaii, countries like Japan, the Philippines, and Taiwan should also be on the lookout for possible effects.

This extra-ordinary event, according to experts are linked to a stronger than usual El Nino event. And this according to them should not be considered as an isolated case relative to this this period alone. For researchers are saying that we should start to get used to it, for many more similar phenomena are expected in the future. As reported on news.com.au, expert explained the chain of events as;

"The appearance of the chain of hurricanes may be linked to the strengthening El Niño weather pattern being observed in the Pacific. The Australian Bureau of Meterology says the eastern half of the northern Pacific was now more than one degree warmer than the averages - with patches more than 2 degrees higher."
