'Star Wars' Fan Page Shuts Down a Sexist Comment

'Star Wars' Facebook page admins have shut down a sexist comment in a most plain and yet, powerful comment.

According to seventeen.com, it all started when the page launched a contest for its audience with art skills to get their 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'- themed art pieces to be featured in an art exhibit. The fan page featured a female storm trooper, Phasma.

This is where the sexist comment surfaced when a fan seemed to be fixated with sexy armors for female warriors. He probably thought that Phasma have to wear high heels or boots to be identified as a woman and he openly broadcast it with a comment, "Not to be sexist, but it's really hard to tell that's female armor to me."

According to cbsnews.com, the fan page admin shut down the comment by replying "It's armor. On a woman. It doesn't have to look feminine." The admin's reply gained hundreds of likes but the fan's original comment and the page admin's response were later erased by the fan after being somehow embarrassed for what happened. Unfortunately, he was not fast enough before other fans have taken a screenshot of their 'small talk.'

The 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' will introduce the character of Phasma in the franchise. 'Game of Thrones' actress who played the role of Brienne of Tarth, Gwendoline Christie, got the part of Phasma. She shared that she's excited on "how neat it was to be playing a character in full costume who is 'not about the way she looks in the flesh."

Many commended the fan page's admin for calling out to the sexist comment but also for helping to change the way we view female heroes and stand up to sexism in such an amazing way.

The new 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is the series' seventh installment after a 30- year- hiatus of the movie series. It will be released in theaters in December 18 this year.
