Lawsuit Filed against Kardashians due to Fireworks Display

Recent court papers indicate that a number of neighbors have filed a complaint against the Kardashian clan. In a report from la.curbed.com, clan matriarch Kris Kardashian and eldest daughter Khloe were named principals in the complaint filed by residents for the incident.

The residents, some of them celebrities, claimed 'emotional distress' when in the middle of the night the area was awakened by loud explosions from the fireworks display to celebrate the birthday of the alleged new beau of the eldest Kardashian sibling, NBA basketball superstar James Harden. The display emanated from the yacht party near midnight.

Each of the twelve complainants have filed suit in small claims court, whose maximum awardable damages is at $7,500. Amongst the complaints was that the loud firecracker explosions caused "emotional distress", with one of the claimants saying 'she has MS and her condition worsened since the incident' while another said 'her kid freaked out.'

In a report from tmz.com, the suit is not about the money but it will force the family members to appear in court and be face to face with the complainants. Small claims court do not allow the appearance of lawyers, thus requiring defendants to appear personally. The plaintiffs want to admonish the family for their 'rude and supremely selfish' behavior.

New facts have come to light in relation to the said yacht party, according to a report from refinery29.com. According to Marina del Rey law enforcement officials, a permit was granted for the party but not for the fireworks. The officials maintain that no permit can be issued for such a fireworks display during a non-holiday in the middle of the week. There has been no reaction yet from the Kardashian camp on the lawsuit or the said statement from Marina del Ray officials.

The saga unfolds in the Kardashian world, where apparently, everyone else just happens to live in.
