MTV's 'Awkward' Season 5 Episode 2 Spoilers & Air Date: Will There Be More Drama Between Matty & Jake?; Jenna Will Cause An Accident

The first episode for MTV's "Awkward" final season aired last night and it reportedly brought a number of interesting stories which made fans eager for episode 2.

According to the International Business Times, the new season picked up right where it left off in the Season 4 finale. Jenna (Ashley Rickards) finally decided to move on with her life and forget about Matty (Beau Mirchoff). However, Matty realized that he still has feelings for Jenna.

Matty's feelings for Jenna will reportedly cause trouble for him, as his girlfriend Gabby (Erinn Westbrook) senses that he is growing closer to Jenna. Out of frustration, she sleeps with Matty's best friend, Jake (Bret Davern).

Jenna reportedly knew about the affair but hesitated to tell Matty about it. According to Cartermatt, the drama continues between Matty and Jake as they find a way to repair their friendship. Meanwhile, Gabby has also severed her ties with Matty, but it seems like her relationship with Jake will also be doomed.

Meanwhile, Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed) will be planning her wedding after she said yes to a proposal from a marine. She reportedly hopes that the marine will be stationed far away so that she will have a chance to break off her engagement. It turns out the marine was stationed in California. With this, she plans to have a spectacular wedding which many fans speculate may be cancelled anytime soon.

The new dramatic spoiler promo clip posted on the Hollywood Hills features more intense scenes that fans can anticipate in episode 2. According to the site, there will be an intense confrontation scene that will be happening, and Jenna was seen causing the school to have a huge power outage. According to the official synopsis for episode 2, this accident will have surprising results for the show's characters.

"Awkward" Season 5 episode 2 is titled "Short Circuit Party" and will air on MTV on September 7 at 8 p.m.
